Jeffrey Allsbrooks claimed he forgot that the gun was inside his bag before entering the Longworth House Office Building. According to U.S. Capitol police, stationed officers “spotted an image of a handgun in a bag on the X-ray screen” after he went through security, leading to his arrest four minutes later. Allsbrooks is charged with carrying a pistol without a license. The Capitol police are trying to figure out how Allsbrooks was able to proceed into the building with the gun in his bag....

On January 5, Munafo allegedly made 143 calls to the Calhoun County 911 line in Michigan. He reportedly identified himself as “Yankee Patriot” and tied up the line for over three hours. The FBI said he threatened to maim, kill and attack the dispatcher and her family unless she connected him to a deputy sheriff or sergeant. Munafo accurately recited the dispatcher’s tax and mortgage information and claimed to know where she lived, the FBI said....

Ibbotson and Sala were travelling from Nantes to Cardiff on board a Piper Malibu aircraft when it disappeared on January 21. Sala’s body was later recovered from the plane wreckage in the English Channel with the help of specialist contractors, he died from head and trunk injuries. Ibbotson’s body has yet to be found. Baskin and her husband, Howard Baskin, filed a complaint in a Florida federal court on Monday, aiming to block the release of the forthcoming second season of the smash-hit documentary series. The suit targeted Netflix and Royal Goode Productions, arguing that the companies have no right to release leftover footage of the Baskins or their Big Cat Rescue company in the five new episodes. The couple argues that they were led to believe that the appearance releases they signed allowed the footage of them to be used for only one season....

Svechnikov scored two third-period goals, including one that will surely make the highlight reels, to single-handedly lead the Hurricanes’ 2-1 comeback victory over the Flames on Tuesday. It all came after it looked like Calgary would escape PNC Arena with a narrow victory. Elias Lindholm scored midway through the first period to give his team a 1-0 lead that the Flames protected for the majority of the game. Calgary’s players put their bodies on the line to stop Carolina from getting shots on Rittich’s net, with defenseman Noah Hanifin even needing to be helped off the ice after blocking a shot in the third period, but they couldn’t keep Svechnikov from making his mark on the game....
