St. Louis followed up a Paul Goldschmidt single with four consecutive home runs off Philadelphia starter Kyle Gibson. Nolan Arenado, Nolan Gorman, Juan Yepez and Dylan Carlson went deep.
The Cardinals are just the 11th team in MLB history to hit four home runs in a row, and the first to do it in the first inning.
The Cardinals built a 5-0 lead on those homers, but Gibson managed to weather the storm and stay in the game.

The last team to accomplish the feat was the White Sox in 2020 against Cardinals pitcher Roel Ramirez.
