The Cardinals lost 27-10 to the Seahawks on Sunday, but Fitzgerald reached another impressive NFL milestone.

Cardinals veteran Fitzgerald reached 1,326 catches and passed Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez (1,325 catches) in second position on the NFL receptions list.

Fitzgerald, who trails only Jerry Rice with 1,549 receptions, entered the game with 1,321 receptions and accomplished the feat on a 13-yard catch late in the fourth quarter.

The 36-year-old Fitzgerald opted to put retirement off for at least another season and re-signed with the Cardinals on a one-year deal.

Fitzgerald – an 11-time Pro Bowler – was already second in receiving yards after entering Sunday’s game with 16,532. He once again trails only Rice with 22,895 yards.
